In 1977 Ron Wyatt took his first trip to eastern Turkey to pursue an interest in ancient history, archaeology and the Bible. Little did he realize that this would be the first of over 100 trips to the Middle East or that he would become the discoverer of some of the most sought after Biblical archaeological treasures of all time.

Before the end of this personal quest due to his death in 1999, Ron would be credited by many with finding the remains of Noah's Ark, the ashen ruins of Sodom & Gomorrah, the spot where the Red Sea Crossing took place, the real Mt. Sinai (not in Egypt but in Saudi Arabia), the location of the crucifixion site of Jesus Christ and hiding place of the Ark of the Covenant.

The Anchor Stone web site was one of the first established (April 1997) to feature Ron's Discoveries. It is the oldest remaining web site that contains virtually all of the material and newsletters he released during his lifetime.

From the beginning it was started with Ron's full approval and cooperation. We believe it contains the best and most accurate information on his work. We are constantly updating our material. It has become our goal to continue Ron's work and to conduct it in the same spirit he did.

Ron was not a professional archaeologist. He was a registered nurse anesthetist by profession. This fact, along with his knack for finding artifacts that had eluded the professionals for decades, made him a controversial and often maligned figure even by some Christians and creation scientists.

He believed in the sciences but felt that often the scientist could not see past his own education and "think out of the box". He was concerned that today too many of us let the "people of letters" do our thinking for us.

For this reason Ron never relied on scientists or professionals to confirm his work. He employed scientific testing and then presented the results along with the biblical, historical, archaeological and scientific evidence in the belief that each person was capable of making their own decision.

Ron believed that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is reliable in every way including the field of human history. He sometimes cited this as one of his "advantages" over the "professionals" because he believed that the Bible could be used as a guide book to find and document many of its stories; especially the ones that chronicle God's special intervention in human events.

Ron did not attribute his great success to any unique ability or talent. In fact Ron often stated that without God's special help he would never have found anything. Ron was a man that took God at His Word and the results are documented in the more than 175 pages of this web site. As you study these pages please consider that God has preserved this evidence for just this time in earth's history.
